residence wdf is realised in a group of new-build apartments on the left ban of the river "de Schelde". The dwelling is drafted and designed acoording the specific style of living of the occupant, a life-enjoying bachelor in his fifties, open-minded and art-lover.
The leading idea is the conception of two "wall's" laced in the empty space in such a manner as tot divide the whole in different functions needed for an optimal comfort of living.
The intersection of the wall's results in a turning plan, which according to the position make part of one of these wall's. Because of the possibility to turn 360°, this element adjusts and accomodates the space to varying necessities. Also, it gives an additional agreable aspect according to division, organisation and entering of light.
The apparent lateral "character" is purposeful intensified by one long cupboard subdivided in three volumes. Each volume accentuates one of the different living-area's or zones. In the dining-room this cupboard volume is lenghtened by a ceiling high mirror, which widens the whole space to a remarkable and significant degree.
Anywhere in the dwelling the possibility of entering of natural light has been taken into account.
